AdvanTech Plastics has the “pop” needed to satisfy our carbonated soft drink customers thirst for vast quantities of bottle caps.
For example, our 1881 automated cell includes a 96-cavity mold that takes less than 4-seconds to produce 96 caps. Do the math and you’ll see we can produce 12,000 caps every eight hours. The caps go through the first vision system that checks for defects such as shorts, contamination and other defects.
They then go through a ‘water fall’ system which lays each cap flat and places them in rows in preparation for “Top Printing”, where the customer’s brand is printed on top of the cap. They then go through a 2nd vision system to ensure printing is in spec, i.e. done properly.
Once approved, the caps get packed 5,000 caps per box! The operator only needs to feed assembled boxes to the line, and label them at the end.
Consistent Quality and Precision
Why does AdvanTech use a 96-cavity mold? Because a higher cavity count per cycle means a lower per-unit production cost. By producing more caps per cycle, manufacturers reduce energy consumption, labor costs, and raw material waste. Additionally, automation minimizes manual intervention, further reducing labor expenses and the risk of human error.
Automation ensures that every bottle cap meets strict dimensional and structural standards. The 1881 automated cell integrates quality control mechanisms that monitor consistency in weight, shape, and sealing performance, reducing defects and enhancing product reliability.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
By optimizing cycle times and reducing waste, this system contributes to sustainable manufacturing. The efficient use of raw materials and energy lowers the carbon footprint, aligning with modern environmental standards and reducing operational costs.
To Sum Up…
Our 1881 automated cell with a 96-cavity mold is a game-changer in bottle cap production, offering unmatched efficiency, cost savings, and quality assurance. Investing in this technology is a strategic move for manufacturers looking to scale up operations while maintaining sustainability and profitability.
