Husky Presses: Plastic Injection Molding Masters!

December 19, 2013

Advantech is proud to offer our clients the superb plastic injection molding capabilities of the Hylectric 330 machine from Husky Injection Molding Systems.

The 330-ton Hylectric machine – an expanded version of earlier models that can accommodate stack molds  – features a grease-free design that is ideal for many specialized, high-cavity molds for medical parts, closures and food packaging applications.

The Hylectric provides our customers with longer mold life at lower tonnage, and shorter cycle times compared to other equipment.

Husky’s Hylectric provides our customers with a number of key advantages, including:
Wide tiebar spacing — Allows faster mold setup compared to conventional machines that require tiebar pulling for installing larger molds. Also allows the use of a wider range of mold sizes and cavitations in one machine.

Fast cycle times — Tests by Husky on a 48-cavity closure mold resulted in a faster cycle time on the Hylectric machine versus a conventional machine.

Lower tonnage — The Hylectric’s patented Reflex platens have allowed many companies to use less tonnage when testing its molds. This has helped significantly reduce mold wear and saves energy.

Repeatability — The Hylectric provides Advantech  Plastics with the shot-to-shot performance and control it requires when testing its high-precision molds.

Growing global demand for medical and closure products  will drive the growth of molds with ever-increasing numbers of cavities.  However, the higher number of cavities mean that mold operation, including hot runners, gating and part ejection, all require extra TLC.  The ultimate goals are fast mold changes and consistent shot-to-shot performance with faster cycle times.
